Eastview Community Center is a hub for partnerships doing good for the community...with the community. These partnerships encourage community betterment throughout greater Des Moines in these four areas:

Who We Are

The Eastview Community Center building was constructed in 1974. Since that time, it has been home to several local churches, with the most recent being Freedom Church. In late 2013 Freedom Church decided to disband and held their last worship service on Sunday, November 17. They were, however, led by God to donate their building to Valley Church.

In 2017 Valley Church invited CrossWay Community Church to start meeting in the facility. Later that year Valley generously donated the building and land to the church. CrossWay made a commitment to continue running Eastview as a Community Center following the same vision as Valley. In December 2017 David Harper was asked to be the full time Director of the center. In September of 2018 Crossway merged with Grace Church of Pleasant Hill and became Southeast Polk Family Church. Family church owns the building and grounds. In 2022 Eastview Community Center became its own non-profit overseen by a Board of Directors from the local community.

We love the east side of Des Moines and are eager to continue being part of the community as Eastview Community Center. It is our goal to have the facility be “a hub for partnerships doing good for the community…with the community.”

We seek to create good will in the community through good works and partnership, to reach diverse groups, and ultimately to impact as many as possible in the Des Moines area. Through our various partnerships and programs Eastview Community Center wishes to be a blessing to the east side of Des Moines.
